Fiber optic infrastructure sharing model benefits regional operators and providers of all sizes that can focus on developing new solutions and expanding into new markets

Fortaleza, April 27, 2022 – V.tal, the first end-to-end neutral fiber optic network company in the Brazilian market, will be in Fortaleza to present its portfolio of neutral network services to telephone operators and internet providers in the region, a business that can benefit end consumers with the offer of ultra-speed internet and other value-added services. The company will be present with a booth at the 11th RTI Internet Providers Congress, which will take place on April 27 and 28, from 9am to 6pm, at the Ceará Events Center. The Marketing Director of V.tal, Rafael Marquez, will be one of the speakers of the panel on Neutral Networks, on 04/28 at 4:30 pm.

Neutral networks represent a great opportunity for the Internet service provider market throughout Brazil, and one of the main advantages of using this model is to avoid overlapping and redundancy of network infrastructure in the same region, thus optimizing investments and enabling rapid business expansion for regional operators and providers without the need for investment in network construction.

“In Fortaleza, we will explain how this new business model works, which is in line with the concept of the sharing economy and which enables regional providers to grow quickly when entering new markets and offer their consumers access to high-speed internet to work and study,” says Rafael Marquez, Marketing Director at V.tal.

In recent months, V.tal has signed contracts with 7 regional FTTH (fiber-to-the home) service providers in the Northeast region. Altogether, the company has more than 3 million homes with fiber optic internet service available for contracting by internet providers and operators in 41 municipalities in the states of Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe, Pernambuco and Piauí.  In Ceará, there are more than 700 thousand residences with fiber optic internet service available for contracting, 600 thousand in the capital, Fortaleza.

Enabling 5G

More than allowing the expansion of the population’s access to high-speed internet, V.tal’s neutral fiber optic cable network will also be strategic for the deployment of 5G technology, which will revolutionize various sectors of the economy such as industry, agribusiness, health, among others.

This is because the new technology is accompanied by a great demand for high-speed data flows that, in turn, requires the support of a robust fiber optic network to sustain traffic. In addition, the new technology will require 5 to 10 times more antennas from national operators that will need a fiber optic infrastructure to connect these antennas.

V.tal recently launched FTTTower (fiber to the tower) and FTTCity (fiber to the city) solutions that will meet the deployment and expansion of the new technology in the country as well as current market demands.
