São Paulo, July 03, 2023 – V.tal, a global end-to-end neutral digital infrastructure solutions company, has purchased land in Fortaleza (CE) for the construction of a new hyperscale data center in the city. Called “ Mega Lobster ”, the new facility will be fully integrated with the company’s “Big Lobster ” submarine cable landing station and edge data center located in ‘Praia do Futuro’.
The new data center will benefit from V.tal’s terrestrial fiber infrastructure with high capillarity to connect in a fully-diverse way to the neutral ecosystem of “Big Lobster”, offering operators and OTTs complete solutions to access the Central PIX (Internet Exchange Point) of Ceará , which registers the second largest volume of internet traffic in Brazil.
The construction of another data center in Fortaleza reinforces the company’s strategy of expanding infrastructure in strategic connectivity hubs in the region, to meet the growing digital needs of local and global companies.
In addition to Fortaleza, V.tal currently operates data centers in Rio de Janeiro and Barranquilla, Colombia, connected by 26,000 kilometers of submarine optical cables that connect Brazil to Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, Bermuda and the United States.
