Rio de Janeiro, November 24, 2022 – Following its growth strategy in the ultra fixed broadband market, TIM announces a neutral network use agreement with V.tal, Brazil’s largest digital infrastructure company. TIM will have V.tal’s more than 18 million fiber optic homes available to accelerate the expansion of TIM Live Ultrafiber across the country, with a focus on 1Gbps offerings. The partnership also includes the use of V.tal’s network infrastructure to initially connect 2,500 TIM 5G sites in several cities.

Today, TIM Live Ultrafiber is present in 31 cities and 7 administrative regions of the Federal District, with about 700 thousand customers, being elected as the best broadband service in the country for the sixth consecutive year in the Estadão Best Services Award. With the partnership, TIM will expand its presence to more than 100 cities.

The move is part of a strategy to use neutral networks, which aims to accelerate expansion and the possibility of democratizing the provision of fixed ultra-broadband to many more customers, in addition to increasing 5G mobile coverage across the country.

“TIM Live Ultrafiber, our fixed broadband service, is 10 years old. It is time to bring our quality so recognized by the market to homes across the country, increasing the number of homes served and taking a leap in this segment. By opting for the neutral network business model in partnership with V.tal, we were able to rapidly expand into new markets and improve our return on capital, which contributes to TIM’s strategy of profitable growth and also to the democratization of the use of high-speed fixed broadband in Brazil”, announces TIM Brasil CEO Alberto Griselli.

“The partnership with TIM, being one of the largest operators in the country, is very strategic for V.tal as it solidifies our performance as the largest neutral network company in the market. We are happy to announce that TIM will be able to promptly make use of our 18 million homes passed with fiber optics, as we carry out the systemic preparation necessary for the company’s service. Contributing to the dissemination of ultra high-speed broadband and 5G through this agreement with TIM fills us with pride, because in this way V.tal materializes its purpose, which is to provide infrastructure to empower the emergence of new digital applications,” says Amos Genish, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of V.tal.

In this way, TIM drives the growth of the service, maintaining its main characteristics and differentials, which place TIM Live Ultrafiber as the best fixed ultra broadband service in the country: efficiency, very high speeds, offers and differentiated portfolio, with the best offer in the market for 1Gbps speed and the best equipment, ensuring the best experience, including for Wi-Fi.
